Since 2012, Vishokanand offers a rural-get-away for the young, and family groups, seeking or inclined to solitude, spirituality, reading and writing. Retreat hospitality has to provided to more than 50 senior citizens from nearby cities, and individual local youth and self-help group members. A small library for use of visitors with rare donated books and newspapers and magazines is available. It is soon proposed to start Panchkarma Ayurveda (meditation, yoga and body detoxification treatment) but is dependent on confirmed enrolment of participants.
Started in 2011, the concept of Heritage Tour Services for the elderly is unique. It is designed to address specific problems of the elderly; often related to lack of outdoor recreation and mobility, spiritual and emotional wellbeing, reduced self-confidence for unescorted travel & absence of blood-family interactions. Bereavement support is also much needed, particularly in the non-family context of those living in old age homes.
Participating in Heritage Tours provide an opportunity for participants to meet, interact and share problems and experiences with other group members, local village residents and senior citizens, who host them, at the different destination towns and cities visited such as Haridwar, Rishikesh, Bijnor, etc
30 urban Senior Citizen Group tours facilitated. Preparation of customised tour itineraries for each group travel and local facilitation arrangements made. Tours conducted in collaboration with local Senior Citizen Groups at Haridwar, Rishikesh, Bijnor, Mathura and Vrindavan. Also, 25 Bijnor rural senior citizen group tours facilitated.
